6/20-6/26 Parent Email

 Hi Parents

Another week down!  We had a great camp this weekend.  Your sons are kind, hardworking, polite and helpful! As an outside observer I had a chance to watch our coaches and parent volunteers this weekend.  It was remarkable.  Our good coaches gave the players their all and it was clear to me that they care about more than just having good football players; they care about helping these players grow into fine young men. They blessed our kids.  Happy Father's day to each of them and a big thank you to their families who willingly lend them for more hours than we will ever know.

Thank you to all of the parents who helped out at the camp out- it took a village.  Coach Walker and his family went above and beyond. We also had an awesome parent who was home thinking about the team and thought to bring 5 giant cold watermelons up for the boys to snack on.  Everyone loved it and it came at the perfect time!  I was inspired by his selfless and thoughtful act.  It is so impressive how many parents we have who are constantly thinking about what they can do to help the team, players and coaches. It is what makes our football family awesome. Thank you!

One other honorable mention.  Michelle Socci tirelessly makes sure we have every amazing picture and video we could ever want.  BHS is the envy of every school in the state because of the awesome social media presence and coolness factor that Michelle brings.  Thank you so much Michelle!

GOLF TOURNAMENT
Attached is the flyer for the annual golf tournament (also on the blog).  This is another way your son can earn funds towards his fees*!  It is also a fun experience for the players to interact with members of the community on the golf course. The Bountiful community loves these players and wants to help them.  Please take a look at the flyer and call or visit the companies, golfers and other sponsors you know and invite them to join us!  Like the card sales, the turn-around time is fast!  We will send out a sign up genius for helpers for this day (it takes about 10 volunteers to pull the day off) please watch for that sign up!

*Players will receive $100 toward their fees if they get a company to do Red, Black or Gray sponsorship with the golf scramble.

HOME CAMP
This week is Home Camp.  This is a huge week for the team and helps determine the success of the team in the season. A daily schedule and details are on the Blog. It will be updated daily so please take a look.  Take note that lifting group times have rotated for tomorrow morning!

Camp days are long and hot. Please always make sure your son has a water jug and prompt your son on fluids, sunscreen and any snacks or other personal items. Please encourage them to hydrate the night before practice as well.   When the team is not at home (tuesday and friday), we will make sure the players have access to water to refill the water containers they bring and shade.  Meals and snacks will be provided as detailed in the attachment.  Always feel free to supplement your son with what he needs.

We need volunteers! Pulling off home camp is a heavy lift.  Please see the sign up genius here or on the blog for various slots and volunteer where you are comfortable and able!  We need you!

OTHER REMINDERS
Fees will be loaded on your player MyDSD account by the end of the week.  All fundraising efforts will be reflected in the total.   As a reminder, fees were presented at the parent meeting.  If you have questions, you can find the breakdown on the Blog under the "Parent Information Packet" link on the right.  Fees should never keep a player from participating.  If you need help with fees please contact Coach Freck directly.  There are many options to help with fees.

Thanks so much and let's go!
